How to remove shifter knob

I have a 2000 year sk2

How to I remove shifter knob?

If I remember correctly there is a little locknut under the boot screw it down and the knob should screw off..I did it awhile ago, but thats what I remember.

turn it counter clock wise... but do you have a lock nut?

Loosen the lock nut from the bottom of the knob by screwing it down. Then once that is loose just unscrew the shift knob.
