Default How to replace rear control arm bolt?

I had to replaced one of the two bolts securing the rear upper control arm on the passenger side (the previous bolt somehow fell out) with a brand new OEM bolt. I now hear a crap load of noises when I drive over dips/bumps from the same location of the car. When I installed the bolt I just screwed it in. I am posting because I wanted to know if grease or some other lubricant was supposed to be added during the installation process. I looked in the Helms manual but nothing is stated. Can anybody shed some light on this?

Might try to preload it and use proper torque.

just looked it up in the Honda S2000 service manual--says to preload it, after you lightly tighten the bolts--raise the suspension to load it with the vehicle's weight before you tighten the upper arm bolts---- torque specs are 132N-m or 97.6 lb/ft
no lube or grease is mentioned.

I'm looking at this myself to avoid the dreaded s2k binding. I have a mild antisieze from permatex for brakes (looks identical to the honda pad grease). I plan on lightly dressing the shaft of the bolt, but not getting anything onthe threads for a proper torque reading.

Preloading, antiseiz and proper torque is always a good thing as mentioned above by others. I use antiseiz on almost everything, it can make a world of difference when removing a bolt. It is important you coat the entire bolt. (including the threads) You might want to check the bushings and other parts tied into the suspension. I had a metallic noise some time ago, I got under the car and found it to be my endlink. Some how it came loose and needed to be snuged up.
