Default Ignition System Type & Mods

Was looking into upgrading the ignition system in my s2 (ap1), but I dont know anything about it! What type of system is it? Wasted spark, capacitive discharge? Also i was looking at AEM's twin fire ignition system. I have custom headers exhaust intake and V-AFC, will i benefit from such an upgrade? Any help is appreciated.

The stock ignition has been shown to be completely adequate for anything normally aspirated. For forced induction, AEM EMS owners have been using stock ignition components to upwards of 450hp.

I would try putting your car on a diet... that is the easiest way to get faster! With simple stuff you can lose 150lbs. Wheels, suspension, lose the spare tire/tools, exhaust, change seats, etc...

The stock ignition system is coil on plug with an ignitor in each plug. Unless you are running 15psi or more boost, changing the ignition system is uneeded.
