I guess the reason I was thinking of the siphon route is that I read a post talking about how it just takes the right 1/4" dip tube. Doesn't sound like it's that involved so thought it would be worth a try for my piece of mind.

What can I say... it's a sickness. The thought of the ECU retarding timing becuase it senses pinging just freak me out!

I think what I'll do is just remove the gas cap and let it all evaporate. I figure in another 12-18 months I'll be good to fill 'er up again with 91 and can start driving my car again...

Ya... kidding. Would never do that to Mother Earth.

I tried siphoning gas out of my S2k to switch fuel before going to dyno and didnt have any luck, I'm pretty sure theres a screen in the hose or maybe that 1/4" hose your talking about it small enough to puncture through it haha.

But yeah just drive normally and you'll be fine. No need for all that extra hassle

read the part of your manual that says it's ok to use 87 octane. The engine will accomodate by retarding timing. You'll lose some power. Just drive it till it gets to E and then fill it up with premium again.

Your in break in period anyways right? Is the s2000 compression high enough to cause pinging?
11:1 I believe. That's pretty high.

Alrighty then... I can take a hint. Doesn't sound like siphoning is even an option so that makes the decision easy. I'm already in a bit of granny mode with the break in, so I'll just put around some more until I can fill with 91 and be done. It'll be the longest lasting tank of gas I ever burn. How long after switching back to 91 before the ECU returns to normal mode?

Thanks for all the help, guys. Really appreciate all the input and hope my next post is less idiotic.

Pull the negative terminal for 30 seconds and reset the ECU if you want. Just remember your radio code.

you'll be alright, I did it once on purpose ONLY cause I had to. Aftermath of hurricane Ike down here in houston, there were a shortage of gas and lines were about an hour long wait to get gas, by the time I got there, there was no premium and I had no choice but to fill up regular gas cause my gas light was on.
