Default injen intake

K well i found out that most of the ppl that talk about intake are talking about the older s2000 cause they talk about the fake air ducts in the front bumper. the my05 and 06 the bumper is completly closed so would a cai get ANY air in that position...?????? or will i lose horsepower. cause our bumpers dont have any openings.... please help me i want an intake..... for the sound and i raced my buddy who has an intake and he beat me. i put a test pipe on and we were even i had a slight edge but after 3rd i would put about a car to a car and a half. i was on an eclosed road... but i was wondereing if it would help me or hurt me.

Any cold air intake will give you sound at most.
I had my cold air intake run all the way down into the bumper and then cut out the vaux brake vents. Sounded cool ---> no power gains.

But i'm sure others have a different opinions. My suggestion is a KN drop in filter. And check ebay and the FS section here.

good luck

I have an 03 with custom fog lights in the ports that are in the bumper so its sealed off for me also.... I noticed some gains even though its closed off. You have to think even though its closed the air coming from under the car is still much cooler than the air surrounding the motor. Its just a CAI its not forced induction .. you dont NEED to have an open port for air to flow directly to it.

AEM or INJEN CAI doesn't really draw air from the air duct, more from the vents that's on the plastic bottom peice. It's not a ram air intake, it's a CAI.

If you want the sound may I suggest K&N FIPK GenII. Its great bang for buck, great sound, great construction, no hydrolock woes.

IMO I feel like there less power at the lower end but more at the higher end. Thats just me tho. It COULD just be all in my head.
