Default Installing Heater Valve Relocation Bracket

Ive got a quick question for you guys. Im trying to figure out the easiest way to install the Alloy Craft heater valve relocation bracket. Since it goes around the A/C lines, Ill need to disconnect one of the heater hoses somewhere. In the manual, it says to drain the cooling system if removing one of the hoses. Is this really necessary or can I do it somehow without draining the coolant? I dont want to spill a bunch of coolant or get air in the system. Can anyone advise? Thanks

No help needed... It was a pain in the ass around the a/c lines, but I got it installed and spilled next to zero coolant. Thanks anyway
