did you take off the motor mount brackets from the block ?

the lift point was the cross member and i left the mounts on the engine, the motor and trans were on top of a flat furniture moving dolly for i could just roll it under the car

and there were no clearance issues with the subframe and motor mounts ? any clearance issues ?

Yeah.. my last engine removal was done the "old" way: trans from the bottom, engine from the top. I will be putting in a home brewed stroker on the car over the summer so I'll use the lifting the car method see how I like it.
