Jacking up our s2000 from the rear
#21
Taking the rear wheels off makes it a lot easier to install the exhaust. The hangers are easier to manipulate.
I use 4 jack stands and a jack for backup.
A tip: never use WD40 or any penetrating oil on rubber exhaust hangers. Get some armorall, spray on water based tire shine, or soapy water in a spray bottle. Lubing the hangers will make it easier to remove the exhaust/chassis barbs.

Does penetrating oil weaken the hangers?

Any petroleum product will.
Silicone spray is another viable choice. Soapy water is probably safest for the rubber, but won't still be there for next time, nor will it help prevent squeakes.
I've always liked using ramps. I feel they are generally more stable than jack stands. Yes, they can fail from load, but they seem less likely for the vehicle to fall off to the side. Ramps are also great if your driveway is sloped like mine. A ramp is still very stable this way, where a jack stand is very dangerous on a slope (talking sloped fwd/back, not side/side).
Getting the S on ramps is a bit of a challenge though.

An aside. These work well on jacks with 3-inch or bigger cups. Keeps the jack from scratching and causing little hickey marks, on the chassis. Keep the pucks clean and free from oil.
