No, because the change that makes the CTAE manifold produce power lower in the rpm range is a longer runner, which has a lower resonant frequency.

hey ul,
when doing a set up, such as the one you posted. is the aem gonna make more power than a mugen intake? is there really that much power to be gained through a v2 when compared?(i ask you this cause you see it alot im sure)
i plan on sending my head to joe soon after i get my j's header exh, then have you tune the ems. jus a little curious. thanks

I've never dyno'd the Mugen back to back with another intake, so its hard to say. The Mugen does seem to work, we just don't know how well since its so rare (I've dyno'd one I believe).

UL,

How does this sound for an F20C buildup?

Stock 2.2l crank.
Upgraded conrods.
Upgraded pistons.
Alaniz headwork, intake manifold porting, big bore T-body.
J's/Toda/Mugen or some other design headers.
Test pipe
J's/Mugen intake
Free flowing exhaust
AEM ECU
Toda cam gears.

Would this make a good street/track day engine? Something with good torque and power, excellent throttle response, and maintain the 9k rpm redline?

I'm thinking of a NA motor project this coming winter . . .

Thanks Shawn.

Sounds about like what I want to do on my car, except I'm going to sleeve it out to about 2.3 liters (and probably still run a cat). Just got a line on a cheap used block today as a matter of fact...

If you sleeve it out, will you still be able to keep the 9k redline?

And yeah, I will probably keep the cat as well. Is a higher flow cat worthwhile?

Very nice setup S2kRob!

May I ask what TB size are you planning? 70mm / 74mm?
