Sure, bore doesn't noticeably affect redline (at least in these circumstances).

I would like to find a 3" diameter cat if possible.

does anyone knows the formula to calculate the rod ratio, I want to know which is the limit of my engine.

redline is also affected by the weight of the componentes, how much weight the stock piston

After following this thread a bit, I want to build a reliable motor. Have all the issues with the AEM EMS been resolved i.e. temperature gauge, idle, startup, especially on an 04+? Is the only way to achieve any good power is by using the EMS? I'm up north in WA, and don't know of any good EMS tuners. On previous experience, full engine management systems didn't run 100% reliable.

Are the changes mostly to the fuel curves, or are there a lot of timing changes?

Very nice setup S2kRob!

May I ask what TB size are you planning? 70mm / 74mm?
74 of course. he's got upgraded pistons and i'm sure he increased the compression.

I have more of a life than reading 11 pages.

Sund,

The current state of the AEM EMS is quite good. The new 1052 box in particular, running V1.11 software, is a great fit on the S2000. It starts and idles very well. The temp gauge issue is still unresolved, but we usually just set the the check engine light to turn on if coolant goes above 230 F.

While I'd love to tune your car for you, I'm in SoCal. But you are fortunate to have good tuners in your area. Give a call to Torquefreaks/Horsepowerfreaks. I believe they are in Oregon and have tuned a number of S2000s with EMS.

Well the formula for rod ratio is simply:

rod length/stroke = rod ratio

...but if you're trying to figure out the limits of your engine you probably want to calculate piston speed which I don't know the formulas for off the top of my head.
