OP....there's a small outside chance that its your clutch. Idk why anyone would need convincing to check the simple and cheap things first. Does a doctor need to convince you not to amputate your own arm and get a prosthetic if you get a sprained wrist?

 

I am with everyone else, what your describing does not sound like a toasted clutch.
