I think what happend is I was listening to a couple guys at work that think they know what they are talking about and they laughed at me when i said something about holding wot when running a compression check. heh so i guess i was right 
put a little bit of antiseize or motor oil on the thread of the tube, sometime i put them on so tight they kinda stuck there
the idea of hold WOT is to let the motor breath, there's no point to see how well the motor perform with a closed air supply.
