Ok so I just installed a AEM CAI. I noticed this sound when I drive, like a rattle. I figured out the problem it was my clamp rubbing against my hood, I adjusted it and fixed it.


Now I notice a loud clicking sound when I turn off my car. I guess it could sound like all the air rushing out of my intake when I turn off the car but I never noticed it before?

Is it normal?

I wouldn't exactly describe the sound as clicking but it's normal.

 

If it sounds like a big sorta exhale, is normal.

I get what sounds like a metalic exhale/cough when I shut down.

 

^^ Same here. I love it! My friend has a V2 on his RSX type-S and his does the same hiss sound when turning off. It's not a click tho.

 

I get the same click with my FIPK, right after shutting it off.

 

Is it a repeated ticking noise after the engine is off? I think that's just the sound of metal contracting, I get that noise on my s2k but I didn't know it was the CAI (CAI was on the car when I got it)

 

^No it's just one loud click from the front, right after you shut it off. The creaks your hear is the exhaust cooling off; shrinking.
