Default KIA 4.77 Gears are out of the diff!

I picked the front diff up at my local salvage yard for 110 with less than 1000 miles on it.
Taking it apart was easy, took about 1/2 hour to pull it apart.Quick measurements are:
OD: 7.25 inch
ID: 4.25
43 teeth
pinion: 8 inch
I can take picks if some one can host them for me.
Install wont be for a while but I thought I would share.

Did you check the backlash spec before taking it out?

Never even thought about it.
I did not plan to do the install myself so it never crossed my mind. Oh well, next time.

f20kills,

Good job. I've got a front diff sitting in my garage as well. I do have a dial indicator, so I'll make sure to take a few good backlash readings before I remove the ring and pinion.

Chris.

Please do, and post back. I'd also appreciate it if you could take pics of the wear pattern...
