As stated in my PM, this is a classic #4 cylinder failure. Due to increased load, together with a lean motor, and the OLD oil jet bolts. I've seen this first hand, where a #4 cyl went south right after SC install.

A timing CHAIN tensioner noise is alot faster than that. It's so fast you could call it a buzzing. About 20-25 times per second.

I also told him to change his oil, and look for FRM flakes in the oil.

Reach inside the pan with a coat hanger with a small hook on the end, and see if you can drag some of the flakes out to confirm this.

You could also do a compression test. The cylinder with the scuff will have higher compression, because of the excess oil on the rings. Hence why you have lost no power.

so as im going to need a new engine... should i just run this until it blows...

i guess ill go check and see the oil.... i guess running it through a coffee filter will work?

No....coffee filter is too tight.

Just drain it into a clean pan. You can fish through after.

well i didnt find bits of metal, but the oil was black, and i had 200 miles on it...

Looks like a new engine is in my future... Anyone selling a f20C motor? I was also looking at a laskey built motor too.... that could be nice
