I don't know that I would classify this as a "Problem", it is what it is.

I've had these ticking noises since day 1. It's just the engine bits cooling down at different rates. Next time you come back from a drive and shut it down, open your hood and just stand there and listen to all the neat noises. No biggie.

As an aside: Are you sure it's a Tic and not a Toc?
Ve haff vays to make you Toc!

Ok, I just wanted to make sure its something I shouldn't worry about.

I'm pretty sure its a Click, not a Tic or a Toc.......but then again...

I've the usual ticking and tocking and knocking since day 1. I also know what sounds the exhaust cooling down sounds like. I recently put the spoon header on the car and noticed the increase and added noises of my car. yes these sounds are more noticable after the car is warmed up. Of course the header doen't have the heatshields on and the tubing is thinner. The exhaust sounds are going to be more noticable. What really drives me crazy is that when the car is running and i get out and stick my ear near the front right wheel there is much more noise than before. But, that's where the header is and now I just smile because i know that's the sound of performance.
P.S. check you oil level just to make sure. Mine didn't use any oil until 2000 miles and then got thirst all of a sudden.

i get this too. it is the valves. in the morning when it is cold i get a ticking sound coming from the engine. it is audible, but when the engine warms up it goes away. I should probably have my valves adjusted as the S2000 has solid lifters instead of hydraulic. I think this is a common issues on many honda vtec motors..some care to shed some light on this? i have heard this complaint from people with other honda vtec cars.

If the car is off and you still hear the "clicking" noises, I bet you it is the catalytic converter more than anything. It happens to all of our cars. Don't trip... everything is cool.
