Default Koyo radiator - question

Has anyone recently bought a koyo radiator? I bought one around two months ago from a site sponsor and just getting it installed but my Mugen radiator cap that fits the stock radiator does not fit the koyo. Is it suppose to come with one? I was told that it doesn't. Just want to double check, thanks.

Correct, they do not come with a cap and you will require a new one as the new cap will be slightly larger.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just wanted to confirm. Wished I knew when I ordered the radiator. Would've bought it all together.

Normally companies make two different style caps, one for oem and one for aluminum radiators. If you're particular to your mugen cap you can pick up the other version which is a Type F.

Thanks for the clarification. For the time being, a stant cap was sourced and seems to do the job. I was at least able to drive home without issue. The new koyo cap will be here in two days. I'm okay without the Mugen sticker, for now.

It was just annoying that extra time was needed for Billman to go to a parts store and source one out that would fit. Thank god there was one of the correct size and height. Crisis diverted.

I dont know if all the companies call it Type F for aftermarket radiators, so anyone reading this thread for info, double check to make sure you're getting the right one. The Mugen and Spoon are Type F for aftermarket radiators, while J's Racing could be something different. Just wanted to clarify.

^^Very good point. My koyo cap came in and surprisingly it's the exact same height as the stant cap Billman found for me. I'm just not sure what the bar rating is.

The bar rating is for pressure (google millibar pressure). It is what the cap will relieve at.
