Yeah im going to try to do all the indicators. I'v been working on my soldering skills haha..so I can probably get it done. Just wish the darn LED's would hurry up! I got two extra sets of controls I bought to do this to. I didnt want to risk messing mine up if it didnt work out. I got a set of AP2 black controls, and an AP1 set I sprayed Silverstone, it looks awesome! This is my plan for the colors for the two sets.

The Black AP2 set.
All the back lights - White
Engine Start Button - Red
Mute, A/C, and Rec Indicator lights - Blue
And the Fan Speed Indicators - Red

The Silverstone set will have..
All back lights - Blue
Engine Start button - Red
Mute, A/C, and Rec Indicator lights - White
and the Fan Speed Indicators - Red

All this is based off the amount of LED's i'm getting. Its about the only way I can do it without being short on led's. Im sure it will look awesome though!

Haha well if they work out good and everything, ill probably end up selling them sooner or later. I got AP2 black ones currently in my car. I also have these two sets so no real need for them. I bought them to see how hard this is going to be without having to tear my dash apart several times, and to see the color combos so I can decide what I want to do to mine in my car.

 

I was hoping you'd say that. I don't feel like learning how to solder.

 

That is almost exactly 1 idea i had on how i want my dash light to be too (black AP2 Set) except i would do the fan speed in blue too and maybe the rec indicator in red
where did you find the spare controls? that is a good idea to practice... just wonder how expensive they could get?

 

Yeah, I actually could do the fan speed indicators blue if I like. Then make the mute, a/c, and rec leds red. I wanted to put a little red in there so it wont look out of place with the red and orange speedo cluster. I bought the controls off members on here. I got the ap1 ones for cheap b/c it had burnt out bulbs and the face was a little worn, but I took them all apart and masked them off carefully and painted that set silverstone metallic. The ap2 set was pretty hard to find. Everyone wanted $100 shipped or $85 shipped, but I think I got a good deal on the ones I acutally bought. If I did sell them, I would probably let each set go for $75 shipped without the start button. And if you wanted the LED start button, $85 shipped for the controls and button. I would let go of just the start button for $20 shipped alone, so if someone is buying the controls, might as well pay the $10 extra for the led start button!

Also I might attempt to do a DIY when I do this. If I sell mine it will give people that dont have time or cant solder a chance to get some, and people that want to give it a shot have a small guide on how to do it. We'll see though. Just waiting on the LED's now, hopefully will be here this week sometime.

I've had spare blue and white LEDs for this laying around forEVER!, never been able to get around doing it, plus I've always been a bit scare of messing it up too


and i would go with the mention color combo, cause i would change the cluster to blue and/or white as well <would make your dash look much more even=nicer
