Right ,if you just replace your cluster oem bulbs with led bulbs you will get uneven spotty light, would look ugly IMO.
Can you use high output wedge LEDs to get an even dispersion of light in the cluster.

No, even if you use the fancy 5 angle led's, they wont do the trick. there arent that many bulbs in our cluster and its almost impossible for led's to spread light that far. Especially since LED's are so bright, you would have hot spots and spots that are almost completely dark. Notice how they made the LED conversion kits, there are LED's all together in the same shape as our speedo and everything so it lights everything up. If you wanna change the color of it, you will just have to buy the kit to do it to make it look right.

I will keep this thread updated. Hope the LED's come this week, but i'll let you all know when I get them and get started on this project.

Yeah I dont blame you, thats why I got a couple sets to mess with. What size LED's do you have? Also you would rather have the fan speed indicators blue, and the mute, a/c, and rec indicator lights red, correct?
I have to check when i get home on the size, i don't even remember right now lol.

and yeah fan speed blue, but also i would think the mute and a/c in blue would look pretty good and maybe Rec. in red or even stock amber? following the stock "pattern" but its hard to figure it out without seeing it (< another reason why i never got around in doing it )

I think I could make that happen. I would do the rec button in red since the amber one in there will probably look dull compared to the LED's im putting in. So then its all the same brightness.

So it would pretty much be this way.

White back lights
Red Start Button
Blue Fan Indicators
Blue A/C and Mute Indicator
Red Recirculation Indicator

I think that would look pretty good!

I think so too
im definitely leaning more towards white back light more than blue back light...

This is somewhat what i had in mind, with the only difference like we said the rec and start button in red and the vent controls white also... and never mind the cluster even though i think it looks nice too, except i would to the RPMs either white too or blue...

hope DJ Qube doesn't mind me posting his picture (its just for reference purposes)

Well I recieved the LED's today. I ordered 50 white, 25 blue, and 25 red to get these 2 sets and my personal controls done. The guy ended up sending me the white and blue correctly, and instead of the red sent me 25 green. Sigh. So I guess im going to see if they will try and fix it for me, even after it took 10 days to receive them. So it might be a little while longer before this happens.
