Have you considered changing the bulb?

Sounds like you've got a bad harness, bad connection or bad ground. All the rear lights can be accessed from inside the trunk. You have to remove the liner.

DOH! Sorry!

To get at the turn signal lights and harnesses, yes, you'll need to undo the wheel well splash shield and go in from there. If you weren't looking for an electrical fault, some owners with small hands can actually change the bulb by going in through the hole in the engine bay.

Your title says tailight, which may add to the confusion. I'd change the bulb again while you are there. Usually, you can bump a failing bulb to get the filiment to touch again and light.
