a little problem with convex mirror

Default a little problem with convex mirror

I tried doing a search but they never work for me....mine did not come with instructions... to make a long sotry short my convex mirror is not on the car very tightly at all..... i mean it will stay but its lacking a hold........ is that where that gummy sticky stuff comes into play?? any help would be appreciated thanks.

The "sticky stuff" is adhesive that is supposed to be used to help hold the replacement mirror in place. Also, make sure that the plastic clips are properly engaged.

I assume you're talking about the convex replacement mirror on the driver's side? Not that it matters, the installation is the same for either side.

Yeah, you need to use the gummy stuff from the original mirror and apply it to the back of the convex one. I got probably 90% of if off using just my fingers, and it seems to be holding the new mirror on just fine.

You're welcome.

In case there are people that don't know what this modification is, both Darren and I have installed a convex driver's side mirror on our cars. These mirrors are available from Muz, and it is one of the best safety-related modifications that I've done on the car. It eliminates the left side blind spot. Just be certain to remember that "objects in mirror ARE closer than they appear", even though that's not embossed on the mirror.

I love this mod...wish I'd done it sooner.
