Me neither, but I've seen my fair share of worn ones. Just because they're worn doesn't mean they're still not doing their job, just not as well as fresh ones.

 

Thanks guys, might also mention that I have an aftermarket exhaust (hks I think), I swapped the headers out for stock ones a while back and I think it quietened things a tad, but could the ticking be an exhaust leak after the manifold? the ticks do seem to be quite loud under the car.

 

Did you replace the exhaust gasket?

 

The exhaust was installed on the car when I bought it so not too sure. Is this the gasket that sits after the manifold? donut gasket? are there any other part of the exhaust which could produce a similar tick?

 

Yeah, exhaust leak may cause a ticking type noise.

 

Could there be a chance this is TCT related? would Billmans TCT reduce noise?
