Lower Block removal Problem

Default Lower Block removal Problem

I need to pull my lower block from my upper block to remove crank and get the block re sleeved, all bolts are loose. HOW THE HECK DO I SEPERATE THIS SUCKER? Any tricks i have a rbber and wooden malet that have done nothing.

You mean the head from the block? Are you talking about the crankshaft girdle? Main caps? You're making a very vague statement making it almost impossible to help. Have you removed the engine from the car? Is the transmission still attached to it?

There's a spot to prybar it from. You removed all the 10mm bolts as well, correct?

All the bolts are loose? They need to be removed (the headstuds). Simply pull/push on the spark plug tubes for leverage and rock it back/forth. Don't forget about the ground bolt behind the cylinder head.

Hit the cast tabs on each side with a hammer lightly a few times you will hear a change in pitch when the block gets loose and will easily pull apart

Did you loosen the bolts in a series of steps, working from outside toward the inside? To prevent the body from warping.
