my maint. light started blinking 10 times at start up recently. i lost my manual. can anyone here tell me why its doing that and how to stop it. my 02 has 59,000 miles. all maint. has been done on it except valve adjustment. but thats coming real soon. also have been putting in 87 gas because of the gas shortage, no other option but didnt know if that had something to do with it

 

 

went thru the faq's couldnt find it, might have missed it a link would help

 

Car off and ignition off, hold the "trip button", then turn the ignition on, keep holding that button until the light stops blinking, then release. Done.

It is set to come on every certain amount of miles, like to remind you of oil changes and such.... I never pay attention to it, I just do my maintenance on my own without having to be reminded.

 

You may want to buy a replacement manual. More things in there like maintenance requirements.

I don't know how you could have missed it but its the 4th one under the first heading "ENGINE STUFF" --> How-To Clear a CEL / Clear the ECU / Clear Maintenance Required Light / ReLearn ECU

 

thanks for the link, i found it this morning, guess i was tired last night from a long drive back from vacation and over looked it, i also found my manual. thanks for all the input
