Maintenance Req'd light blinks like 5 or 6 times at start up then stops blinking....what could be wrong? Only does this at start up. Is it worth taking it to dealer? Car has 6000 miles on it with recent oil change so not sure what triggered this. Anyone else have or had this problem? Thanks for any info.

 

The maint. Req light is programmed to come on every 6000+ miles or so (Oil Change). At first it will blink on start up, and eventually will stay on. You can reset the light, It's in the manual how to reset it, or do a search on resetting the maintenance light.

This is your reminder to change the oil. Mine comes on at 5250 miles. It seems to be calibrated a bit off.

If I remember correctly you need to turn off the key and push down on the trip button. Turn the key back on while holding down the button for about 15 seconds. Light should go off.
