This may seem like a dumb question, but here goes. How long after you start the car should the Maintenance Required Light stay on. I noticed today that it came on briefly while driving, but than went out. When I stopped to fill up and restarted the car the light seemed to stay on for about 20 seconds. Any thoughts on this?

 

It means its time to get your oil changed...Your owners manual will tell you how to turn it off.

 

It does that when nearing the 12000 KM increments (7200 miles?). It will stay on when you reach each 12000 KM increment. At least that's the case on Canadian ones.

Red, I hope you're changing your oil more often than that.

Thanks, I have been changing the oil on a regular basis, but never did a reset. Went to the manual and found out how to and the now I feel reaaly stupid.
