hey guys...i just hit 12k miles with the s2k and the maintenance light came on...i looked in the owners manual and couldn't find a scheduled maintenance at 12k...does anybody know what it consists of? If it's just an oil change and filter...im just gonna do it myself...thanks for the help...

 

That light is an IDIOT light. It lights up at a fixed number of miles since the last time it was turned off. It is fixed on the standard maintenance schedule. So technically it is telling you to have your second oil change done. If you are like many of the rest of us, you are changing it every 3K.

 

In the manual it states how to reset the light.

 

Get out of the car,it will blow up any minute.

 

 

i would like to think most of us DONT change the oil at 3k and wait a while longer at least. 3k oil changes are a waste.

 

5K for me. I also rotate the tires then (wink wink).
