i'd assume you would hand tighthen it, then screw the o2 sensor in, and use the o2 sensor to tighthen the whole assembly. should only be a problem to remove it

That's the way I'd do it. To remove, use a pipe wrench if it won't come off with the sensor. Wrap it in rubber if you don't want to dent it, but then, it's under the car, so who's gonna see it anyway?

I apologize for pulling an old thread, but I got a P0141 (secondary oxygen sensor heater), checked voltages per the Helm manual, ordered an 02 sensor, and upon pulling the secondary O2 out, disovered my cat and O2 looked exactly like these pictures.
