Default Misshift at low RPMs

I was entering a turn slowing down to 40mph around 2500rpms, I downshifted from 5th to 2nd(instead of 4), there was hard pull back and the rear tires screeched. I didn't notice what was the resulting rpms at 2nd but I am pretty sure it didn't even reach redline, but can this damage the engine because of the big jump in rpm?

I drove it around for an hour afterward and everything seems fine but I am worry if there are any damages to the engine that will surface later on.

40 mph in 2nd gear is a good way to get onto the freeway, it doesn't blow your engine up.

Shouldn't harm the engine, not too great for the clutch but I wouldn't worry about it.

The stress of this will likely be felt in your diff. Your tires screeched as they were instantly slowed down. You can ruin in a diff doing this.

Motor & clutch will be fine.

I have done that a couple of times before. Just when you feel the power coming up quicker than it would if you would of shifted into fourth, press the clutch back in asap.
