Default Motec Ecu

It appears that MOTEC has an application for our S2K's. Does anyone have any experience with MOTEC ECU's? I've contacted their distributor and he quoted me a price for their 'M4' unit, Honda harness (we may need a custom built one), lambda sensor (what is this???), and 'ADV tuning option' (???)...

For more info on MOTEC ECUs, chk. out www.motec.com

The price for the unit itself is pretty hefty ($1599USD), and all the 'options' carry a pricetag too....I talked to a local tuner here in Vancouver and he believes that MOTEC ECUs are some of the very best that money can buy -- if you're willing to spend that money!

Anyways, just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with MOTEC ECUs and what their opinions are!

Yes, there are probably a dozen reputable makers of aftermarket engine management systems out there, Motec is one of the biggies, like Haltech, Electromotive, SDS, and many others. Just getting it fitted to the S2000 seems to have been a hurdle that nobody has felt the need to tackle yet.

Lambda = O2 sensor

Does anyone know if Bob Romano from Brisbane Australia is a member?

He looks like he may have some good info to add.

See the attached link:

It seems that the S2K they had was super weak!! hmmm....but it looks like we'll need to bypass some sensors if we go with the Motec ECU...

John Eagle Honda, one of our site's sponsors, will be selling the AEM EMS when it comes out (delayed until mid January) to S2Ki members for around $1,400. I can't tell you if it's any better or worse than MOTEC, but it will come with a harness...which makes me .
