Default Mugen ECU and Intake- opinions?

i'm going to japan soon and i'm looking to purchase the mugen ecu there along with the intake. Since the ecu ignores obd2 sensors i might remove the cat completely. Anyone know if the ecu and intake add power whatsoever? I have comptech headers and hks dual hipers and from what i've noticed the comptech do add power, but when the cars at a standstill it seems like the engine bay is getting WAY too hot so i bog out at long stop lights, or my car will feel really sluggish until it gets some air. I was hoping the intake and ecu would help some or maybe i should go a different route. Any opinions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The intake is not going to give you anything unless you are at speed. If you buy the ECU you will have to get the thermostat, thermoswitch, radiator cap and use minimum 92 octane. Anything less will cause pinging/detonation. Personally, I think you have other issues if your car is bogging down at a stop light.
