they have given u an answer:

get a decent computer and tune.
if u can't afford it , then i doubt u can afford an engine when and if it blows up.

so start saving

I'm talked to Giles from holyroller dyno about MY05 and tune with I/H/TP/E. He confirmed that MY05 are running very lean (up to 17:1) especially after 6K rpm(VTEC)

VAFC is ok for WOT tuning, but I read that for partial throttling it's almost useless since you have to reset your ECU from time to time.
So having all that said I'd say VAFC is a temporary solution for you, but EManage Ult. will help you much better without resetting ECU or anything.
If I say that above 6K rpm it's usually WOT, then vafc will help you fine.
So get the harness and tune it with vafc.

so i should be fine after installing i/h/e and tune with this??
Should...yes...you should be fine. No crystal ball here to diagnose 100% from 3000miles away. But given what you've described, it would be the best thing to do regardless of whether it fixes the misfire code or not. More than likely it will fix the code too.

will a header and exhaust make the car run lean??? or is it that this particular model year s2k runs lean stock? just curious.

If money is tight you should sell your expensive intake and buy an EMS so you can run your expensive header & exhaust.

Any mod to increase flow will lean the car out more....
think about it your giving the engine more air without modifying fuel maps so yes you do lean out a bit....
and seeing as how AP2's run lean from factory this seems right to why your leaning out and misfiring....
dont blow your motor get the tune....

This is just a rough idea. You need to look up other peoples dyno's with A/F readings.

04-05 - Test pipe should be ok, with intake and TP you might be in the 14's. Header will put you over

06-09 - Test pipe and near the limit

00-03 - I/H/E and you could still lean out after vtec
