Pinky,

You just don't get this one.

The simulator only prevents the ECU from throwing a MIL (malfunction indicator light) when the cat's been removed.

The problems which cause the ECU to throw a MIL which are related to the rear O2 sensor readings have no impact on engine performance. Period.

Thus, dyno testing will tell you nothing. Either the MIL has been thrown or it hasn't, but regardless the car will generate nothing different in the way of power.

The ONLY reason for doing this "mod" is to avoid having to look at the CEL all the time.

Sorry I guess you didn't understand my request.

I want to see a back to back dyno of a cat on vs. test pipe installed. Not SIM vs. no-SIM. My bad for not explaining better.

I got a call into Caspers to order their SIM.

I had my car on the dyno about a month ago, and will be installing a test pipe / simulator and putting it back on the dyno on Feb. 1st (club dyno day). I haven't done any other mods since then. I will certainly report back.

I just spoke with Justin at Casper Electronics about their O2 simulator. Apparently they only work for the '00 S2000, and are still working on a unit that will work for the '01-'03s. He suggested that I call back at the end of this week to find out if it is ready...

Does anyone know if the O2 simulator from Diablo Autosports is working on the '01-'03 models?

Hello Everyone!

I have received several calls today from individuals on this website regarding the O2 Sim for the S2000. We Have been working on this with Christopher Bender for quite some time now and I think we have it just about hammered out! There are three Honda / Acura vehicles that are the problem. The S2000, the Civic Si, and the RSX. We have made about 20 different prototypes and it sounds like we have the right one hammered out. It will take us approx 1 week for production of these units and they *should* work on all years of the S2000. Since we don't have one here, we have to rely on the people out there with them!

We are also working on a source for the OEM style connectors for these vehicles. This would make our simulators plug-n-play on all Honda's and Acura's. Just working out the details on that now. I will keep everyone here posted about when they will be ready.

Christopher Bender, Please contact me ASAP!! I have a few questions for you so that I can make sure this is the one we want to put into production. If anyone else has any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me by either email or phone.

Thanks for you time!

I went to a Car show at San Mateo, CA a couple days ago, and I was able to talk to the owner of diabloautosports. He told me that the guy that makes the o2 simulators for him doesn't work for the s2000. But, I told him some members/guest on s2ki claim they work. The owner told that several people that have bought the o2 simulator never complained about it yet, so apparently they do work if they bought the ECG version.
