need help cel again!!!!
i started a post a while back about how i had the spoon thermo with fan swtich and i was getting a cel with the thermo. i had it checked at my work with the obd2 sensor check. the person who sold me the thrmo sent me another one and i did a full coolent flush, fill and bleed when i changed it out again. and i still have the cel? could it be i just didn't bleed long enough? could there still be more air in the system? when i have the bleeder cap open how long does it usualy take for all the air to come out???
Not all of the air will come out of those two bleeders. It can take up to 3-4 driving cycles where you get the engine up to operating temps and then completely cooled down before you will "burp" all the air out of the system. Make sure you have your interior heater dial on HOT the whole time. After each cool down cycle, check your overflow tank and add more coolant. Continue to do this till you no longer need to add anymore.
The A/C compressor doesn't need to be on, and the fan speed can be low. The important thing is that the coolant is flowing through the heater core. The coolant needs to get hot and cold a few times for it to "pump" all the air out through the coolant reservoir.
When I installed mine, I didn't do any bleeding. I just went for a few "spirited" drives and kept topping off the reservoir. I never got a CEL.
What diagnostic codes are you getting?
