Default New Car and Maintenance List

Just bought a 2003 s2000 with 57K miles that is in near perfect condition and completely stock ! I plan to drive the car on occasional nice days to work and on nice weekends. This car will also be used for autocross and NASA HPDE events (roughly 1 event per month to start). I'm compiling a list of maintenance items to do before I start driving the car.

1. Change MTF Honda OEM MTF fluid
2. Change Rear Diff fluid with Mobile 1 75W-90
3. Change Oil with Mobile 1 Fully Syn. 10W-30 & Honda OEM Filter
4. Replace Brake fluid with ATE super blue & bleed brakes
5. Replace Rotors with centrics
6. Replace Pads with ?
7. Leave the all season Toyo tires on the OEM wheels to start with until I get comfy with the car (recommended by members)
8. Stainless brake lines
9. bump steer kit for front and rear -Do I need this yet?
10. An alignment

If I forgot anything or got anything wrong, please advise! I'm loving this forum already!

Congrats! I just picked up an S2000 myself and changed all the fluids to get a good baseline. Here are some more items you should also check/replace.

-cabin filter
-engine air filter
-PCV valve
-coolant (Honda Blue Coolant Type 2)
-clutch fluid (DOT3/DOT4)
-spark plugs
-tighten throttle cable if necessary
-adjust parking brake if necessary
-check retainers
-check for TCT noise (timing chain tensioner)

I recommend Amsoil Oil,Trans & Diff fluid.Powerslot or EBC slot rotors.I run Hawk HPS pads on all my cars and while you're at it,upgrade those brake lines to Goodridge SS lines.

1. I would recommend Amsoil Syncromesh instead, but the new Honda MTF is not bad
2. 75w-90 is the wrong spec, you should use a 75w-110. do a search if you need more information. Amsoil Severegear 75w-110 is a good choice
3. Mobil 1 will burn a lot in K20a/F20C/F22C engines, use any another good synthetic instead(Amsoil, Motul, Castrol Edge, etc). Honda OEM filter (make sure it's the S2000 specific Honda filter, not the general Honda filter!!!!)

Thanks for the replies! Is Mobil 1 10W-30 for engine oil really that bad? Should I dump it out of the car and put something else in (If so which brand besides AMSOIL)? I returned the rear diff fluid. Which brand 75W-110 should I use (Besides AMSOIL)?

I have nothing against AMSOIL, I just don't want to wait to get it or pay more for it when other brands work sufficiently.

Thanks once again everyone!

Mobil 1 10w-30 for the engine is not bad, it just burns alot - you should check your oil more often if that's what you're using
