New engine failure
mechanics have a few things in mind what could be wrong.
1. Bent/not balanced crankshaft (burn marks on the same side on all spots)
2. Transmission not aligned propperly/slack/bad bearings (not centered, so it could cause a vibration and damage the mains), i did have to replace the clutch, throwout bearing was very bad....had only 5000miles on it.
3. no assembly lube was used
4. bad bearing material (it looks like the bearings were falling apart - large chips were found in the oil pan)

You might be onto something, but ask the mechanic to inspect the middle bearings' runout while sitting on the end bearings. Let us know the results. I'd be very surprised if a crankshaft with high runout got through their quality control, but hey sh*t happens sometimes.
That bearing is indeed backwards. That would cause that side of bearing to he waaaay too tight. Its such a glaring error. You would think those mechanics would have spotted that immediately. Its hard to imagine anyone, let alone Honda, making such a ridiculous error.
So Honda would not take the engine back under warranty? Kinda sucks now that you have taken it apart they will not warranty anything. So how did you confirm the tolerances on the mains? It appears the clearance was too tight
