Hmm all the motors sound wierd, more explaination would be helpful. Mine sounds LIKE valve tap at idle but otherwise it purrrs. On decel around 4k to 3k it gets a wierd vibration/noise. This is normal. Tappety could be the chain tensioner. Hard to diagnose a tappety though. Does it change with revs etc.?

Hi, welcome to the forum.

You won't find the answer to this particular question there, but I'd like to recommend that you take a moment to peruse the FAQ threads stickied to the top of this forum. It could save you some time in the future, in case additional questions pop up.

To find the answer you're looking for, try typing the phrase "timing chain tensioner" in the Search Box at the bottom of the page on the Under the Hood forum. Read a few threads in the search results and see if the sounds they describe match your symptoms.

Continue searching, and you'll find that one of the threads has information for removing & replacing the tensioner.

Edit: I sent a request to one of the mods to have the TCT R&R thread added to the FAQ. Here's the link for your viewing pleasure:

HTH.
