Do you guys think he screwed me and gave me a bad trans or what? I have an AP1 btw. 78K miles on it
did you fill it with fluid after the install? serious question too

And last time you bled the clutch line? I had an occasional grind at high rpms and that led me to adjusting the clutch rod under the pedal so that I'm disengaging the clutch sooner. That seemed to help for a couple years until I developed a leak on the master cylinder. Now that I think about it, I should probably shorten that rod again now that I'm running all new clutch components, don't need to have maximum throw and potentially wear it out more.

If your trans was fine before the clutch then it is clutch related. Perhaps it is not connecting properly when you push in the pedal or its some sort of adjustment issue or someone powershifted your car once to often and now it shows with a clutch that does not slip?

This happened to me with my first S... Eventually talked to a few people and was told it was likely a combination of adjustment and something in the clutch hydraulics. The clutch install could've been a problem too, like people said it could be dragging.

I had a clutch installed by Toyota in my Supra they messed it up so bad. It chattered like crazy and shifted strangely. We had another place do the work to fix it and they said there was grease everywhere, all over the friction surfaces and the flywheel had burn spots.

Wow lol. I don't believe I screwed up the install that bad, but I did have quite a few bolts/screws laying around when I was done . The problem has gone away now though that the clutch is fully worn in.

Lol....nobody else caught this?

OP probably needed (still needs) a freeplay adjustment and clutch bleed. And maybe to find out where all the missing hardware came from....
