I wouldnt say weak but I will say that the S2K diff is 'delicate'.

I've seen people blow it up after 4 or 5 hard launches at the drag strip (Were there's more grip in the surface).

Only reason I would swap for a stronger piece is if I go FI and/or set up the car for drag or drift. For NA and time attack/track the stock one should be fine initially.

Expensive.. I'm pretty sure you can just get the internals swapped out of our diff for some that are alot beefier for alot cheaper as well

Correct me if I am wrong, I think the housing on our differential is weak... Not the actual LSD. I'm really tempted to design my own kit instead of using Inline Pro's since it is so damn expensive. I have some guys who do CNC work so if I design it they could probably cut it for me.

Doesn't look like too much R&D would be required to mount the actual Nissan diff in a similar to stock location. I don't think I would try to use our stock axles as they are most likely the next weak link after the differential.

I think the stock axles are adequate.
Let me know if you make such a mount kit I'm in for that

Thanks for all the great info guys! Forgot to tell you it´s for FI, probably a waste of money on N/A.

About the gear ratio in the Nissan axles, maybe a good thing for FI?
No need for the "GTI" gearing when you have torque and more hp on every gear. Anyone here ever driven a S2K with 3.5:1 final gear? Slow up to boost?

I believe the stock Nissan ratio is 3.90...

When I checked ebay they listed 3.3, 3.73 and 3.538 on the 350z axles.
I guess 3.3 is automatic but can´t figure out the other ones, maybe different from year to year?
