You turned on the motor with the vtec solenoid off of it?

no i took it off showed it to the mech he said it was good an dthen i put hondabond on it and bolted it back on then started it. I'm not to slow when it comes to knowing not to start ur enginge with no oil in it.

I was driving it an hour ago and the VTEC kicked in in 2nd gear a little harder then before almost back to the way it was but in 1st still nothing.

maybe you have loss of power due to engine damage...

also, if you're not at wide or close to wide open throttle, vtec won't engage...

are you putting the pedal to the metal?

anything can be fixed..u could probably slam a 2jz in there and it'd be fixed. you would never have to worry about vtec again, actually! ....like u said, who knows what it is,,is it just electronics, is it a blown motor, is it the l.e.d tire flys and the neon kit? who knows!?!

If it is damage it would be fixable (if you can afford to fix it )

I doubt you have something wrong with your engine that would not throw a CEL, but weaken and not allow VTEC to engage???

what doesn't make sense is the claim that it's only 1st gear...the transmission should not affect vtec.

check and make sure the headgaskets are not blown. mustve popped one. how new are your sparkplugs? it could contribute to the issue.

As soon as is gets more than 1 headgasket that would be a good thing to check.

It's a inline 4 cylinder engine. There is only 1 headgasket. If it were blown he'd be having many more issues.
