noise from steering rack or tierod?

Default noise from steering rack or tierod?

this is from an 05 with only 28k on it. the car is off while im shaking the steering wheel.

drivers side


passenger side

Sounds like inner or outer tie rods are bad! Jack up the front and see where the play is from, and check for other loose bolts.

Are you shaking the steering wheel or the wheel itself? Try grabbing the wheel at 9 and 3 oclock and shaking/shoving it back and forth. You can hear and feel a bad tie rod this way. Sometimes it helps to have the wheel off the ground when you do it.

It's a long shot, but make sure your lug nuts are tight.

tightening the lug nuts on mine took the noise away and it hasn't come back.

Start there.
