I tried to install my NRG cf hood damper. I installed it exactly the way the instruction shows. However, after I installed it, the hood is still up even after the damper is compressed all the way. Pushing it further would only bend the hood. I have taken the following pictures.







I remember seeing a post that has the same issue, but I can't seem to find that post again. Does anyone know what's wrong?

I had this same issue when mine were new. It seems like it won't close and it's going to bend the hood but trust me it won't. You have to close the hood a few times and it will go away. Just push down on it a little harder.

 

i did try using some force on it, but it didn't seem to work. pushing it harder down will definitely crack/bend the hood.

 

were you able to push the hood down with these dampers?
