Default O2 cat sensor test pipe operation with respect to DBW ap2

So I've had a test pipe with a stock exhaust and various configurations of CEL fixes and still trip the CEL

First off on my friends' cars on every ap2 04/05 and ap1 I use a simple formula of invidia test pipe plus blox cel fix and have never thrown a code.

So I'm referring only to DBW + stock ecu (no flashpro). Btw I have simply turned off the secondary O2 with the flashpro.

Here are the various unsuccessful configurations I have tried.

1) Invidia test pipe plus blox cel
2) Invidia test pipe plus 2x blox cel
3) invidia test pipe plus 90 degree plus 1x blox cel

I have gotten the following codes:
p0139 slow response
P0138 high voltage

I've read numerous posts that explain the operation of the lambda O2 sensor, but I'm curious as to the difference in usage by the ECU of the ap1/ap2 vs ap2 DBW that makes the the latter throw CEL codes.

Also other posters have alluded to the fact that a faulty secondary (cat) O2 can cause bad a/f and mileage. I thought it was simply a function check for the catalytic converter. If not, and it does truly affect engine performance, does turning the secondary sensor via flashpro cause similar performance problems?

My next configuration I will try is using a mini cat in place of the CEL fixes. While cel fixes essentially restrict the amount of exhaust gases to sniff, a mini cat has cat material inside a CEL fix body.
