Default OEM Cat Help

I am awaiting for a stock catalytic converter by UPS and I just have a quick question upon its arrival. Does the stock catalyic converter have a triangle gasket for where it connects to the exhaust? When I removed the rusty OEM catalytic converter, the one came with the car, to install a testpipe I don't remember seeing a gasket there.

Where the cat connects to the rest of the exhaust there is a thin metal gasket. Just swapped exhausts about a week ago (for the 4th time) so I am positive.

There is also a graphite-ish round donut gasket on the other end (header side) that should be replaced. Reuse the triangle, replace the donut.

Just did mine a month ago.

No, there shouldn't be that "Snap-On" thing stuck to it.

Actually it looks fine. Did you do the gaskets? Can't tell from that shot ofcourse.

I want that angle adapter.

Rachets & breaker bar without were a pain in the ass on that tight angle.

We can't tell from the pic if you have the triangle metal gasket thing in there. From the looks of it.. I would say you probably do as there seems to be a gap between the metal, but you would KNOW if it was there as it is usually still somewhat shiny and obvious.

Mine does not have a triangle gasket. The aftermarket exhaust came with a metal triangle gasket, but the oem didn't...wierd. maybe the previous owner forgot to put back or something...I know for a fact that mine doesn't have a gasket

I just put my CAT back on yesterday, you should have a triangle gasket there. I have one that was there stock and one that came with my TP.

I am going to take my car into Honda for warrenty work and didn't want them to see the TP.

I don't give a damn what people say. There is a a big dif in smell without the CAT. It's not bad but there is a dif. on my 05 and I don't think I am running that rich but maybe I am. I can warm my car up in the carage now. If I try that with a TP I will make the whole house smell like fumes. Anyway, I will put the TP back on, I notice the power gain now that I have changed it a few times.
