Official Found a Rattle Thread
For a while I was suffering an annoying (and embarrassing) loud squeak from somewhere, but it was very difficult to locate. It was embarrassing because every time I hit a bump or rough spot on the street it could be clearly heard by anyone nearby.
It would only happen after the car had warmed up a bit, and would come and go randomly.
Eventually I discovered it was the engine hood latch. The square loop attached to the hood was showing slight signs of wear, and the latch hook looked like it had never been lubricated ... dry as a bone.
I adjusted the latching mechanism downward a tiny bit, and applied a liberal amount of lithium grease to the latch hook. Problem solved!

Hi guys, Hope you can help.
I've had this hollow rattle for a month now, its behind my head (RHD car), and happens when going over rough terrain, bumps etc. I thought it may have been a top mount, so I changed to a new set of coil overs - good excuse huh' ... But the knock was still there. I think I've isolated it to the soft top metal framing. It happens when its up or down.
Here is a video of the knock;

If I reach in and grab the frame and pull up and down it has play in it, is it possible there is something loose (perhaps from a soft top change?), or a play in a bearing? Its near where the motor is I believe.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Clutch buzz from 4k-3k on decel.
From 2.5k-3k the rear trim on my OEM hardtop buzzes, regardless if accel or decel.
2k my rear view mirror vibrates and buzzes.
Hardtop latches sometimes rattle over massive bumps.
I love my car.

I have a "noise" that I can't figure out and is driving me crazy. I've had squeaks and rattles and fixed those, but this one is different.
It's coming from the center console area, I believe. It's not a squeak or rattle. My inexperienced thought was that maybe the e-brake cable was a bit loose ( but still mostly tight )? It sounds kind of like someone tapping their fingernail against a nail, but really fast and consistently. It doesn't sound like a loose nut or metal piece like heatshield, cat, bushings, etc. And this only happens over rougher road, doesn't happen on smooth roads. RPMS don't matter, but it stops when the car is idling. warm/cold, doesn't matter.
Anyone have any ideas?
