I have an extremely annoying creaking coming from my rear suspension when I go over uneven roads slowly. I tried spraying every pivot point with teflon spray and that didn't work. Next, I took off the lower control arms and cleaned them up, repainted them, and greased the bolts up. The creaking went away for all of about two days

Why did Honda have to use this stupid bushing design that can't be greased up at all and introduces binding?
Can that creaking noise be a warning of something about to fail? I have basically the same creak, but only on the passenger side rear. car is 03 with 60k miles, it was in an accident, some of the damage was to that side but higher and behind the wheel well (rim was untouched). It originally had coilovers, i replaced those with a stock set from an AP2. Nothing back there appeared bent or cracked. The creak happens when a passenger is getting in or out or when turning into or out of a driveway at an angle at slow speeds. It does not occur while taking hard corners as far as i can tell, nor does it happen if i go into a driveway straight. Car tracks straight, steering wheel is centered, no pulls under braking or acceleration. planning on taking it to a suspension shop when i can get some time off work.
please update with your findings. someone backed into me and since you mentioned it thats when i started getting the noise. let me know what you find

I had it over at the suspension shop, they did a full alignment and checked the noise out and found it was a cracked or otherwise messed up upper control arm bushing. They did not seem too concerned, sprayed some silicone lubricant on it and said if i really wanted the creaking to go away they could replace it for me but would have to order the part in. It actually creaks worse now Basically, they said i can fix it or not with no ill effects. Does this sound correct? Im considering sending a PM to billman to get his thoughts on the matter. The shop is a good independent shop that my family has been using for all our cars for years and they weren't pushing me to get it fixed so i am inclined to believe them and leave it as is.

Have this rattle on the center console. Happens mostly when idle goes away only rpms and somewhat comes back when stepping on the gas.

Anybody have an idea?

Any ideas on where this rattle is coming from? It's not related to my hardtop because I've heard the same rattling with the soft top up.

Anyone know what this is? I had this problem when I was NA and had a stock exhaust set up and it's still happening, but with a turbo. I would get this massive vibration at 3600-4000 RPMs, but more at 4000 RPMs.

All bolts are tightened down and there are no pipes rubbing against each other anymore nor is the downpipe touching the frame. Removed the heat shielding too just in case. Turbo and such has less than 200 miles on it, so I'm sure it's not that. The downpipe however, has all this vibration from it.

Mounts are tightened down and exhaust hangers are functional and not broken.

Any thoughts? Here's a video clip, thanks anyone for your input and/or same experiences! CLick 1080p for better sound!

I had a buzz on deceleration, turned out to be a combination of stress-cracked exhaust heat shield and bad CV joint on the front of my driveshaft (propshaft to Brits.) Replaced the driveshaft and coated the stress cracks with high-temperature Goop, and it's vastly reduced.

As far as felt tape goes, do you guys just order some up on Amazon or is there a specific style/brand you're all using that people are happy with?

I'm sure it doesn't matter much, but when I mention felt tape to some folks, I get a dirty look. But the internet is full of it lol

Thanks!

So far, I've found a rattle which sounded like it was from the frame or behind the dashboard, and would be worse when the car was cold, and after 5mins of driving would all but go away. It turned out to be the passenger visor. If I put it down or even half way down, the rattle stopped. I need to investigate further, as I think its held by just one screw.

Another "tapping" noise when switching from left to right turned out to be a small glass bottle of empty aftershave under the passenger seat rolling around.

Hi
Yes exactly the same problem makes a vibrating noise which can become loud at tick over but on acceleration it disappears I think it may be worn bearings in the water pump but I am taking it to the local garage to sort it out when I get time off before something drastic happens. I originally suspected the exhaust manifold but why would that go quiet on acceleration?

I have now had it fixed it was the exhaust heat shield under the car all the bolts had come out so it was rattling against the pipe my garage sorted it out gratis took him 3 minutes, so I booked it in for an oil service.
