Default Oil Change

been driving my car for about 13k for the past 2 1/2 years, i think is time for the 3rd oil change, i use sythenic motul, but when the maintance light comes on saying i have 10%, i kinda ignored it, then last night i drove for about 100 miles front and back and when i started my car today says -28 blinking, and the wrench light is on.

question is, i know i need to do it soon, but does this say i have no more motor oil?

thanks in advance guys,

-Eddie

If you had no motor oil, your car would seize.

You're fine.

The maintenance minder doesn't know what oil you put in or whether you drove it hard. It's on a mileage counter, and that's about it.

You should change your oil anyway, though.

/edit: I change my oil every 5 thousand miles, and use Valvoline Full Synthetic. I don't care what the maintenance minder says. You can reset it yourself.

Why don't you open the hood, pull the dipstick and see if there's oil?

I think the counter will just keep going down until its reset.

the minder seems pretty extended. I am waiting for my oil analysis, but I sure would not let it run to 0.
