Oil change with a fluid extractor

The windage tray on our cars is sharp as a razor, if using a soft hose extractor there is a chance that it can get caught up on the windage tray. If your extractor uses a hard pipe it may not get cut, but many use soft hoses for flexibility. I would rather use a Fumoto valve as it drains more oil, and our oil pans have recesses that hold oil and any material that may drop into them. I would prefer to drain the pan with a fumoto valve though I never had an issue doing a conventional oil change on the car.
