Default Oil fliter question

well i've always used fram and never had a problem but this is my first oil change in my S and i'm a little puzzled after comparing my OEM oil fliter to that of the fram one i purchased. When i first saw it i said to myself damn it looks kinda small. This cant be the right one but the guide at autozone say's it's the correct size (TG6607). when i bought it up to the checkout i again questioned the person behind the counter and she looked it up and reconfirmed that it was the proper size. Now that i'm in the middle of my oil change i'm begining to see that there are vast differences in the sizes of the two filters. The fram one is smaller in diameter and length compared to my stock one and i'm concerned whether or not i should even use it or jus go to honda and buy an OEM one. Can someone chime in w/ some insight???

Thanks
Khang

DO NOT ever use a Fram filter on a car that you actually care about. Spend the extra $2-3 for the good Honda PCX filter.

If it's smaller in diameter, then you probably have the incorrect filter. Fram filters are shorter in length than the OEM ones, but have the same diameter (they have to be the same because the seal needs to sit properly on the oil cooler)

Not necessarily true. The outer diameter's of these filters can vary while the contact area remains identical.
exactly... the HAMP filter is way smaller diameter than the OEM Honda one.

I have used Fram 6607 since my first oil change 4 years ago with no problems. I have used Fram filters on all of my cars for over 23 years with no problems. I am not saying they are the best, I am only stating actual facts.

Honda has an oil filter especially for the S2000.
For a reason I guess.

If you "go by the Honda Owners Manual Bible" to make your decision about engine oil.. then why not for the PCX filter as well?
