Default oil pressure/ tct

the tct in my 02' is going out, i got an oil change and the clicking went away, that was about 1,000 miles ago, my ? is how long can it last with good oil pressure, the only time it clicks is on a hot start up for about a sec. then the sound goes away, im currently in a financial bind and was wondering if the tct will hold out for a couple more weeks. any feedback will be greatly appreciated

Well I'd hate to give you advice and have things go wrong, so you'll really have to decide if your gonna drive on it.

Personally, I put up with the rattle (at cold start-up) for months before I finally discovered the cause by stumbling upon discussions here on this site. That was a long time ago and I have replaced numerous ones in local S2Ks. Mine was only needed once - knock on wood.

I'd say drive on it. Keep an eye your oil level. Replace it when you can.

I drove with a bad TCT for 10k because I did not know what the noise was!

It will get worse as the oil level drops so keep the level where it belongs and you should be fine for a few weeks.

I spent plenty of time in VTEC with my bad TCT, again it was because I was unsure of the problem and did not change my driving habits one second.

In fact, with a bad TCT it only produces poor tension at idle. So in theory as the revs climb it's still doing it's job.

As for how to replace it, many write-ups on the board. It is quite simple and the helms doesn't even talk about it actually. Helms book details how to remove and re-install the same one which is a different procedure than installing a new one.
